We are very excited to hold WinterWonderland 2021 in-person and look forward to seeing your child shine as they engage with their friends and our instructors in enriching, fun activities. We anticipate this program will be a positive experience for both you and your child. Given the fact that the world is still grappling with COVID-19 and its variants, we want to assure you that our program will follow the strict guidelines put in place by the Public Schools of Brookline to keep your children and family as safe as possible during this novel time. Masks will be required indoors and we will maintain a social distance of three feet. Breaks to wash/sanitize hands will be built into our time together and we will go outdoors as much as possible to enjoy snacks and lunch. If seated indoors for eating, children will not be across from each other, but rather facing one direction and at least three feet apart.
As you know, this academic year (2020-21), PSB is following specific procedures with regards to attendance and student health. In particular:
-
Mild symptoms will now prevent children from going to school. If your child displays ANY symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them home and disclose this information to the BA&CE Office as soon as possible at 617-730-2700, ext 0 or bacep@psbma.org.
-
Healthcare providers should be consulted even if COVID-19 symptoms are mild.
-
Students can no longer “stick it out” at school programs and we will not have texting available on site. Parents and emergency contacts must be prepared to pick-up children from school if they receive a call from the school. Please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date so that the process can be completed quickly and safely.
-
There is no nurse on site for this four day vacation program. If your child indicates he/she is not feeling well or demonstrates symptoms at any time during the length of the four day program, he/she will be separated from the other children and a parent or emergency contact will need to pick up the child immediately. When choosing an emergency contact, please keep in mind they must be available on short-notice to pick up your child if it is warranted.
-
Please remember that PSB requires you to assess your child for symptoms every morning before the program (including a temperature check) and keep them home if they are sick. If you have not completed a student health attendance agreement, you may do so here: (www.brookline.k12.ma.us/
