Travel to Cuba is intriguing for many Americans, and with the opening of U.S. travel to the island in 2016 there has been much new enthusiasm. Despite recent swings in U.S. travel policy, it’s now still legal and feasible for American travelers to visit Cuba under the “support for the Cuban people” travel category, provided they comply with specific guidelines. On this evening, Laura Quincy Jones and Yasser Torriente-Rodriguez, who currently live in vibrant Havana, will share their passion for the extraordinary people and lively culture of Cuba. We’ll discuss how travelers can have authentic and meaningful exchanges while there, keeping in line with travel guidelines; and touch on cultural gems such as dance and music, public health and education, and social consciousness…along with the cigars and old cars.
